Sunday, Nov. 23

What: "Old New York Sing-A-Long"

Where: Bowery Poetry Club, 308 Bowery (at First Street, on West side of Bowery, one block north of Houston Street)

Time: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (90 minutes)

Doors open: A previous event for children ends at 1 p.m. The Club has a full bar and a cafe, so there can be some eating and drinking prior to our sing-a-long, as well as during the peformance.

We intend to project lyrics onto a screen. We will iron out these details prior to the performance. As a backup, we will hand out lyric sheets, which should be returned at the end of the concert.

Tickets: $10 per person. No advance sales. Cash, credit cards and checks accepted. No reserved seats. The Club seats 100 people.

Information: E-mail Michael Shepley at meshepley@aol.com or call 212-786-9064. Bowery Poetry Club website is www.bowerypoetry.com

Parking: There is a commercial parking lot at Lafayette Street & Great Jones (south of the Public Theater). After parking, walk East to the Bowery and South to First Street.

The Bowery Poetry Club has many different events per week for all kinds of audiences. This event is designed to attract anyone old enough to remember old songs, or anyone who wants to sing them. If you include yourself in such a group, you will not feel out of place.

The space is on the street level. We will have access to a street-level handicapped restroom for men and women. The Club's regular restrooms are down stairs, but our patrons do not have to use them.

Music will be performed live by an accomplished piano player, John Halsey. There may be some surprises (fun, of course).

Your input into the event is welcome. Experience will dictate what to add and what to subtract for future events. Please email Michael Shepley with your comments and suggestions. If you are interested in being kept abreast of future sing-a-longs, please email your email address, or send your name & address to Michael Shepley, 70 Battery Place #102, New York, NY 10280.

Please leave your questions on the blog and I will answer them promptly.

Thank you for your support.
